Jayatissa Herath is a Chartered Architect who acquired his academic and professional qualifications from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. In addition he has obtained a special Postgraduate Diploma in revitalization of Urban Heritage from Institute of Housing Studies, in The Netherlands and a certificate in Architectural Conservation from ICCROM, Rome, Italy.

Having worked for the Central Cultural Fund for 15 years, joined with Green Studio (proprietorship) as a shadow partner from 2002 to carry out private consultancy services in Architecture, Interior and Landscape design and Advertising.

Herath has continued as an individual practitioner with the help of a team of other professionals thereafter and in order to receive the recognition and also to legalize the service, the practice was registered as Jayatissa Herath Associates in March 2005.
